- A new addition to the world’s biggest selling printer applicator line-up
- Compliant with PackML (Packaging Machine Language)
- Features Ethernet/IP and Modbus/TCP communications
Fort Worth, Texas – ID Technology, powered by ProMach, and a leading manufacturer of product identification equipment, introduces the Model 255 – an evolution of the world’s highest selling label printer applicator. (ID Technology Pack Expo Booth C-3421)
The model 255 is the first ID Technology Label Printer Applicator designed to be PackML compliant and is perfect for packaging equipment users who have taken the steps to implement PackML into their packaging lines (or who may implement it in the future).
PackML (Packaging Machine Language) is a standard for programming and controlling packaging equipment, intended to ensure that there is consistency in “look & feel”, programming, and operation between the packaging systems used in modern packaging lines. PackML is intended to reduce the time needed for installation and training on new equipment as well as to make packaging machines easier to operate. It also simplifies communication between the different machines that make up a packaging line - something that is becoming more important. It is championed by the industry group OMAC (Organization for Machine Automation and Control), many consumer packaged goods companies, and other large users of packaging equipment.
The Model 255 Label Printer Applicator uses Allen Bradley PLC controls along with a 4 inch color touchscreen HMI (Human Machine Interface) - all the operator screens being designed to meet the PackML guidelines. In addition Ethernet/IP is standard for advanced levels of communication.

ID Technology’s Model 255 Label Printer Applicator is designed to PackML standards and provides enhanced communications, using an Allen-Bradley PLC and a color touchscreen interface.
PackML provides equipment manufacturers with a structured controls programming philosophy and customers with a standardized look and feel of the machine HMI (Human Machine Interface). This reduces operator training since the controls of each packaging machine are immediately familiar, with common error reporting and screen layouts.
In addition by standardizing machine mode, states and tags, PackML allows for communication between systems, both within the modules of a machine and other machines on a packaging line - regardless of the brand of controls that is used.
The Model 255 is controlled by an Allen-Bradley Micro850® Programmable Logic Controller in conjunction with a 4.3 inch touchscreen interface. The various screens on the touchscreen display are programmed to be compatible with PackML standards. If your company has adopted PackML for packaging equipment, the 255 is the best way to ensure you get the PackML benefits throughout your entire packaging operation.
